In 2007, the Diocese of Orlando formally established an independent, charitable foundation responsible for raising, managing, and distributing philanthropic funds to provide long-term, sustainable support for the parishes, school, agencies, and life-changing ministries across the nine-county Diocese.

The Catholic Foundation of Central Florida, Inc. comes as a direct outgrowth of Starting Afresh From Christ: The First General Synod of the Diocese of Orlando. The Synod, an 18-month envisioning process, brought together over 1,000 of Christ’s faithful, both lay and clergy, to serve on 20 planning commissions and to seek God’s will for the Church in Central Florida.

Their collective efforts resulted in a shared vision that will guide our community of faith in the years ahead. The Foundation will play an active role in advancing this vision as together we strive to:

Grow in our personal, living relationship with Christ and commit to growing our parishes, schools, and life-changing ministries;

Lead our brothers and sisters to a new experience of holiness and abundant life in Christ; and

Share God’s love for all people, giving of our time, talent, and treasure in a spirit of love for the Lord.
