Alive in Christ brings next-generation learning tool to St. Charles Borromeo School

St. Charles Borromeo SchoolStudents returning to St. Charles Borromeo School after summer vacation are discovering that a more hands-on learning experience awaits them. Alive in Christ funds were used to outfit nineteen classrooms with eBeam "Engage" technology, which converts white boards into interactive boards, or "smart boards."

"We promised to improve technology-based learning in the school," said Fr. Augustine Clark, pastor of St. Charles Borromeo, Orlando. "eBeam provides us with an educational tool that can be used for both presentations and assessment, and at a very good cost."

The state-of-the-art technology enables both teachers and students to remotely manipulate data on a computer desktop while projecting the information onto whiteboards for all students to see.

Dr. Pamela Bernards, Principal at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School, is excited about the technology's reputation for facilitating student learning and decision making.

"This new technology will make learning come alive for the students through increased engagement while at the same time teaching them necessary technology skills," said Dr. Bernards.

In addition to purchasing the new whiteboards, St. Charles Borromeo parish recently contributed a portion of Alive in Christ proceeds to the school endowment and is currently planning for an upcoming renovation of the parish hall.
